Hi All,  I own a 2007 Stratoliner S. There is not a lot of high performance parts out there for the BIG 113 CID V-twin. This drove me to make an intake shim kit to help my bike breath better.  The shim kit is high quality and can gain you up to 5 HP and Tq with the right stuff. Pretty much right in line with the more expensive BAK's you can buy or make yourself. The big difference is i utilize the stock air box so all the stock componets will still work. all vacuum lines, positive crankcase ventilation, and air flow sensors will still be hooked up and working. you don't need to buy a fuel proccesor as long as all the vacuum lines and the O2 sensor is still installed and working. you can install this with the next filter maintenance you do.
it WON'T ruin any stock components.
you DON'T need to tear your bike a part to install it.
you DON'T need to buy a 300.00 dollar fuel processor to make it work properly.
you DON'T need to drain the bank to buy it.

you can look at it HERE as i can't post a picture. i sell these kits for 74.00 which includes the shipping.

I just wanted to let everyone know there is a cost effective alternative to buying a BAK. This shim kit will increase the stock inlets about 35% which is a huge increase in air flow. All the stock parts yamaha made for this bike are top of the line design so why take them out and install a BAK when you can just take advantage of the stock design. the stock design does a great job of directing the air stream and keeps the velocity up which increases torque. Adding the shim will let the intake system breath to its fullest potential and it will do a far better job of controlling the air flow compared to a BAK which will allow the air to dump in to the throttle bodies which slows the air velocity which will lose torque at slow engine speeds. if all you are looking for is WOT performance then a BAK is what you need. If you are looking for almost the same performance as a POD filter system, Want to keep everything as bullet proof as possible, want to keep the stock design so the bike will run correctly, wish to save some of your hard earned money and not ruin a single stock component, then this is the ticket for you.

Do you have the dyno runs to prove your claim of increased HP and torque?

Yes, one of my buyers did a dyno tune to his bike. he ran without and then with the shim kit installed. he had cobra after market pipes already on the bike and a PCV. he gained 5 hp and 5 tq. try this link to the forum he posted his dyno results.

here is his comments on the shim kit.

Hi Brain,
I wanted to make a comment on your kit. It definitely works! I was a buyer of one of your first run 10 kits and I am very pleased with my results. I had my 2010 roadliner put on the DYNO before and after to see for myself if I had any increase in HP and TOURQUE. I run a Power Commander V and Auto Tune with Cobra aftermarket pipes on my roadie. I have attached copies of the before and after DYNO runs. As you can see, I had an increase in both HP and TOURQUE (+5) overall. I see that you are ordering 20 kits. I am sure that you will sell them all. I am sure you could sell them for more than the $65.00 that I paid. I'd say to all Liner riders on this Forum to support and purchase THE BRAINS KIT. I highly recommend it. Thanks again Brain. What an addition to an awesome bike. Just a little quicker now.

I was able to work a deal with the water jet company. price has been reduced $10.00 dollars. search for "Brains Air box Mod" on ebay and you will find it.

This is cool. A friend told me there was an open house at the local Victory dealer. They were having free hot dogs, pop, chips, and CHASSIS DYNO PULLS!!! I was on that like stink on a skunk. My brother and i went to it and all you had to do was get in line. I have a previous dyno pull from when I was at Sturgis SD this was with my prototype B.A.M. kit that was not very big as it had squished down so that it was less than a 1/4" more like 3/16" thick which is half as thick as the current B.A.M. kit. the new B.A.M. kit results were more than what I expected, I gained almost 6.28 HP and 6.94 TQ thats a huge increase! Way more than I expected. My set up was B.A.M. kit, K&N air filter, Roadhouse slip-on muffler and stock ECU and no fuel processor. I do have a PCIII but i disconnected it while i was sitting in line waiting. it is not dyno tuned and only had a map i custom made to try to make the bike run somewhat decent. i didnt want to do a free dyno pull with the bike running less than optimal so i unhooked it and counted on the stock computer to do its job. At this point i am going to take the PCIII off and sell it on ebay. I don't need it in my opinion. If i can get this performance from the stock ECU and not have to worry about anything like altitude, weather changes and so on then why deal with it at all.
