So my bike is a 2012 triumph rocket three roadster @3500 miles about.  Just had it in the dealer for routine maintenance and such.  Earlier today my bike overheated, it was slowing down with high rpms in 2nd and 3rd.  I pulled over and let it cool down for 20-30 min and then I drove it another 5-10 miles to my house at 20mph and didnt ride it after that.

Now the first thing i checked was my coolant and bingo that was it.  My questions are did i ride it too far after it overheated?  Can i just replace my coolant and ride again?  Or should i trailer it to my dealer to get it checked out?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

A motor overheated enough to affect how it runs, will usually damage the oil, too. Change the oil before riding it again.

First thing you have to do, is to find out were the coolant went and why. Then you can maybe check it out with water , pressure test cooling system , crank the oil pan drain plug, see if water starts out if it does, you have lost a head hasket most likely. Good Luck

2012. 3500 Mi.
Why are you trying to sort it out, other than to learn. It's a warrantee issue. You dropped a lot of good money to buy the bike. If it failed in 3500 (assuming you weren't racing it), they should be the ones who have to pull it apart to see how much damage occurred.
But, on the flip side knowing the damage that could have occurred is a good way to keep them from blowing smoke up...

You should probably take it back to the dealer. Maybe they forgot to tighten something up while working on your bike. Of course I'm assuming that this issue occurred near the time you took it to the dealer. A lot of times dealers will hire the cheapest labor, not necessarily the best.
