Just wondering what you guys are smoking by picking the Nomad as the best Tourer in this test. The Nomad gets the worst by far fuel mileage at 28 mpg, has only 148 mile range, an un-useable over-drive gear, and scrapes dangerously in the corners with a single rider. Load it up with 2 people and gear and how do you think it's going to get around the corners?? For a real world tourer the Harley or Victory would score well above the Nomad with me. The Cross Roads rear suspension is not "harsh" by the way if you bother to put the proper amount of air in the shock for your weight. It has 5 generous inches of plush suspension travel in the rear.

Another point I would like to make is the Victory controls are easily moved forward and aft, they come mounted in the center position from the factory. This is an option for your shorter riders that thought the controls were too far forward. If you guys are going to do a review you really need to atleast learn the basic features on the bike you are testing, like the air shock on the Crossroads as well.

Obviously these guys are sport bike riders that don't have a clue what touring bike riders need in a bike. A bike that gets 28 mpg with 148 miles of range, can't use over-drive and is dangerous to ride around corners with my wife and luggage on the back is useless.

Well I re-read the article to see if I perhaps missed something. It looks as though I did. The Nomad engine is also seriously lacking in torque and is over-geared to add to the dilemna. How much worse could it get for a tourer that you expect to load up with luggage???!! Some people may think this is a nice bike but to rate it higher than the Harley and Victory for Touring is just mind boggling to me.

Thru the years, I've owned a couple of Kawi's and I never hit any of the problems you mentioned. Worst mileage was a trip directly into a tropical storm (30+mph headwinds), and even then, I only got to the mid 30's on mpg. BTW, if it's not too much trouble, could you post a link to the actual test you guys are refering to, I spend 10 min on the motorcyclecruiser website, and I can't find a reference newer than 2009 for a Nomad, and it didn't say anything like you are reporting.
