I am 55 and female. Bought my second bike a 950 Yamaha V-Star Feb. this year. My first was a 350 Honda  approx. 35 yrs. ago. I LOVE my bike and LOVE riding. I don't mind riding alone but am not having much luck finding groups to ride with. Any suggestions?

Try Women on Wheels. I rode with them for a couple of years (in spite of being male - hubbie of a member). They are a good group to hook up with for rides. They have safety captains to give expected actions for the ride. They also had a proper chain to report problems to. Used it once. Just mentioned to the Chapter prez the problem, and why it was a problem, and they dealt with it. No testosterone got involved. I liked that. The person was coached  by the safety instructor about how to deal with turns on gravel. She learned, and I had a safer riding partner.

Cheeck out the AMA's website. They'll point you to an affiliated riding club near you.

http://www.ama-cycle.org/

If you want something a little less organized, try www.meetup.com and enter "motorcycle riding" in the search box.

regards,
Joe

I've ridden with a few groups but I finally settled with a group from www.meetup.com. I was I glad I did because they are a good group of people whom I socialize with often. You may not be as lucky if there's a group near you but I'm glad I found them. We're very active, riding almost weekly, had a few overnight trips and social activities in bad weather.
