I ride a Victory Motorcyle and they rock! They have a great ride and a better image than Harley. What is it with Harley anyways? I hear they have all kinds of quality issues? Victory has beat out Harley several times for the JD Power awards and I wanted to make sure my bike lasted! What do you ride and why??

I think I smell a troll...

Ride what you like, just don't put down someone else's ride to attempt to justify your purchase.

1982... That was the first year I put over 50,000 miles on a bike. It was a Harley.

It's all about the ride. Image only matters to posers.

regards,
Joe

I ride a Harley! A 2008 Sportster. It has a few changes (frame geometry if I remember correctly). I love it, it has a great quality. I think the really old Harleys had problem a couple of decades ago. The faves seem to be the 1970's, LATE 1990's and 2000's. Several Harley mechanics told me Sportsters were the best deal for what you get and the money and they last longer. All metal components still. One of them has 3 Sportsters each with different shock setting for passengers, roads etc, the other that also rides a Sportster only has a 1978 and rides nothing else except for drag racing and Bonneville Flats.
We mostly ride what we like for what we want it for, I like the fuel injection and there is nothing wrong with upping technology in a bike if you want it.

Spam or not, what is everyone's thoughts on Sonny Barger's recent "endorsement" of Victory over HD?

He either likes it better, or he likes a free and good bike.

I haven't a clue who Sonny Barger might be, but I'm glad to hear he likes a bike that I don't. Maybe the ones I like will drop in price, if he persuades enough people to buy Victorys :-)

regards,
Joe

Joe-Sonny Barger was the leader of the Oakland Hell's Angels in the 1960's+, a large and fairly violent group.

Sonny Barger is credited with starting the Hell's Angels, noted for riding only Harleys, which makes his endorsement of Victory curious.

Other posters are right....ride what's right for you. If it's only image you seek, you're a poser.

And no need to put down anyone else's ride to make you feel better about yours. One person's dog is another person's dream.

Ride safe, watch out for cagers on cell phones, and thank The Man Upstairs for every safe ride.

I agree 100%, Yes Vitory are a quality bike & with Arlen & Cory Ness on board it is a winning combo, but HARLEY DAVIDSON have proven to build quality bikes time & time again HD have been going since 1903, Victory are still the new kid on the block & still need to prove themself.

Ageed,
BTW Indian started 2 years before Harley.
Everybody still says Indian needs to prove itself.

So, if you started before HD, you need to prove yourself, If you started after HD, you need to prove yourself. Pity nobody started on the same day.
