Is there anyone who has a VTX 1800 with 40,000 miles? What is the typical age of a VTX 1800 enginer or trans? AT 40,000 mile what needs to be done to this bike? At what age or mileage the seals would start leaking? Am I buying trouble?

There was a 2004 model here in Oz for sale in a dealership, it still rode well and looked good however I considered the mileage at 60,000 a little risky to buy at 60% of the new bike price. So I guess it boils down to what the price is, is it relevant to the mileage?, in this case it wasnt.

I bought a 2003 VTX 1800 C brand new in 2004. Rode it for 15,000 miles and had to put it up for 2 years while I was away. Now it has 73,000 miles with nothing more than simple stuff going wrong. Runs like the day I bought it. Not a single leak, ever, yet
What year is it?
I know of several 1800 riders with over 100K miles and still at it.

I have a friend selling his 2001 Valkyrie Interstate (not exactly a VTX 1800 but along the sames lines) with 42k on it. His is a road bike and he's used it as such. Its general condition and the care that's been taken of it are what you need to focus on.
Ride safe, watch out for cagers on cell phones, and thank The Man Upstairs for every safe ride.
