I have an 86 honda magna vf700c it started idleing erratically this year and even sounds like at times to sputter through the carbs...I am leaning towards poor winter storage maybe gummed up the carbs.....I installed new plugs, fuel filter, air filter.....bike runs fine except at idle and when trying to take off....any ideas would be greatly appreciated....also if it is possible carbs gummed up ....can that be eventually run out or is it necessary to remove the carbs and dip them?  thanks again for any suggestions......

I'd try one of the in tank cleaners. In my car I used to use Gumout, several motorcyclists I know swear by SeaFoam (haven't used it).

If one of them makes it better, but not perfect, then you are going to have to clean the carb. 1st try would be to use some spray in carb cleaner and see if you can get rid of the gunk that way. If that doesn't work....
