First I just want to let you know that I know close to nothing about my bike. But, I will try to describe the problem as detailed as possible. Last year I tried to start my bike after not starting it for 2 months. When I turned the key to on, the neutral light wouldn't even turn on. I figured it was a battery problem, so i had my friend charge it for me. When I thought he charged it, and putting the battery back in, there was no response. All the way until now I thought he charged it. I don't think he did. About 2 minutes ago I connected a battery charger and the light turns green. When I push the start button, it doesn't even turn over. It makes a very very very slight buzzing noise when I push the button in. Now, when the bike was running 16 months ago, I used to have to tap or kick what I think is the starter solenoid on the right hand side of the bike to get the bike to start. It is about one inch wide by one and a half inches long, round, and has two main wires connected to the front buy nuts. I don't know if that is the problem. Becuase when I tap it now all I get is the occasional spark and no response from the engine. I was wondering if anyone could get back to me as to what you believe the problem is. If it is a simple part problem and is easy to install please let me know cause removing exterior parts and replacing them will be no problem for me. Oh, and when I have the charger connected the turn signals work, the green lights work but my head light won't turn on. Or my front two signals. Wondering if that means anything. Well please get back to me. Thank you for your time and consideration.

It sounds like you have multiple electrical problems and one of them is a bad battery. Letting a battery set around for several months completely discharged is a pretty good way to damage it. Letting it set around for a year discharged turns it into junk.
Once you have a good battery on the bike, you'll probably find that some of your lighting symptoms go away also, but that tapping on something to get the starter to crank the engine, is going to have to be troubleshot.
regards, Joe
