Tips to lower an 82 Virago??

Just picked up this bike.. It's an 82 Yamaha Virago 750. I'm 4'10", so you can imagine my issues with the height of this bike. 
Anyone have any ideas on lowering this bike? Even a few inches would help tons.

Put lower profile tires on it, add weight to the back end to compress the springs more, change the rear shocks to shorter shocks. Those are the easy things to do and will gain you a couple inches if you do all three. Keep in mind, lowering the bike that much will reduce your cornering ground clearance significantly.

You can also "shave" the seat foam. Saddlemen can help here by installing gel to make up for the lost foam. Adding weight to rear? Never heard of that. Call Progressive Suspension for shorter shocks and lowering fork kit. You need to balance the lowering at both ends.

um... do you ride? Have you ever carried a passenger? You didn't notice the bike squatting when the passenger got on? It's the simplest solution of all :-)
