Hi there, I am new to the Forum and just wanted to say hi to everyone. I live in Southwest Wyoming and look forward to meeting new friends. I bought my Raider last year when they first came out. I have to say that I have not been disappointed, wow what a good running bike and it has the look of a winner. I am always getting compliments and plenty of discussion on the bike. It's funny when in a group and people find out it's a Yamaha they can't believe it. For anyone looking to buy one, it is well worth the money! I paid $13,700 for mine in Provo Utah.
2008 Kelly Blue Raider S. OEM Windshield, Stock for now but goodies in the works.

Anyone out there know where I can find a aftermarket air intake system for an 08 Raider. I've talked with a few aftermarket dealers and they can't find anything to replace the stock box.

I have an 08 bought out of the crate and I've had it up to 140 and haven't had a rev limiter kick in as yet.

WELCOME HOME!!! 2/8 1st cav 69/70 grunt
i made the mistake of sitting on a black cycle near the door of a warehouse of machines at a dealers...while looking for a gal bike.no idea what this machine was, looked it over, learned not to touch them less you want to own it, best to look to make ideas run through first.looked rather well set up,very curious lines were nice/wat is it?labels?motor size? black spots of greaseordust on the rear wheels? (apparently, w/explanation; the young crotch rocket guys had turned the throttle for a few miles in the dewwed morning...had to use the brakes generously...guess its brake dust on dew!) 1800cc?!!HANDLES FAST!!!interesting this is after i sat on it and wondered last spring 08 man does this feel right!ergonomically gal said/let me get on it /really? yeh (seat style tempted her) Drop me a line bout your new info on the machine n parts/a new 09 is waitin for me to claim her somehow, ken

Is the Raider a good choice for a woman 5'2". Seat looks low, but wide. Think 5'2" would be flat-footed on this.

Are there any Raider riders out there that have installed forward controls on their bike? I have just recently done this to mine and it is wonderful from the stand point of comfort. Here is the kicker. I put 80 miles on it since the install and they are already leaking brake fluid from the plunger on the master cylinder. I won't mention any names but my advice to all of you, leave it stock. If you want leaks, loose bolts etc, buy a Harley and don't turn a metric into one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am 5'5" and can't sit flat footed with a stock set up. I need about another 1-1.5" lowering to get flat footed.
I will probably lower it a good 2" and see how that feels.

I bought my raider a couple of months ago. Its a sweet ride! Haven't done any mods to it "yet" because I think it looks hot already. I even like the pipes. Their kind of sexy with that arch going on and the liquid silver color is cool too. Not too many women do their own customizing but I am thinking of the corbin fleetliner bags that are suppose to be a perfect match in color. They're pricy and I may have to wait awhile.
