Hello everyone!
I am not yet legal to ride a bike, but i will be taking my cbt shortly, so if and when i pass i am looking to get a 125 cruiser. I have my eye on two, a honda shadow vt 125 or a suzuki marauder 125. Id like to get your opinions in these two bikes, and if anyone has ridden both, can you compare the two? Also is the shadow learner legal?
Sorry for all the questions, im just really excited!
Im not really looking for speed, just something nice and comfy, reliable and isnt too much to run or insure, but also something that i will want to keep even when i have passed my full motorcycle licence.
Any other recomendations welcome!
Thanks!

The 'zuke is about 12hp, the Honda is 15hp. The Honda has 8000 miles between service, which is nice. Neither will get you on the slab, but, I knew a guy who was the original owner of a '47 Velocette. He did many cross country rides on a bike that topped out at under 50mph. Last time I saw him, he had his 2003 pictures of going to British Columbia (we live in Mass.)
Only slightly more expensive is the Suzuki Savage (I think it's the s40 these days). It's a 600cc thumper engine (about 37hp), belt drive, air cooled, and new is $4800, used, not much more than your other choices. It still gets 60mpg, and it will do 75mph, with a 240lb male on board. Wife bought one for her 1st bike, and I rode it home. I wouldn't do long distances on the highway on the bike, but, it allows for the option of cutting thru the city on the interstate.
It has the same limitation as the other 2, suspension and seat padding are cut rate.
