I purchased a 2009 V Star 250 to do a short commute (25 miles one way) to save on gas expenses and enjoy the ride. The bike is excellent except the gearing is way to low. I read in another forum about owners changing the sprockets and having good results.

So, I want to change both the front and rear sprockets on a 2009 Yamaha V Star 250 from a stock 16 tooth Front and  45 tooth rear to a 17 tooth front and 43 tooth rear. However, I can't find those sprockets listed for that model bike.

My question is what do I need to do to get the parts to make this change?

I did some looking, and it does appear that people have found sprockets, and they seem to be happy with the higher gearing. Truth be to tell.... I couldn't find the sites to get the parts.
