I have a 2007 wing with the nav. package. I was wondering if I can install the 2009 xm radio in place of the standard radio? If so can I still use the original display screen?

Just wondering if you had any success changing out your radio. I am looking to replace the radio in my 2001 wing as it had a short to ground which drains my battery. If you did change and you old radio is part # 39110-MCA-6710 I might be interested in it.

Hmmm. I have the '03, and it's eaten a couple of batteries (when I got it in '07, the battery was dead, said nasty things about the dealership). Then Last fall, I broke my leg and didn't get into the garage for about 2 1/2 months. Dead battery with failed cell. Fed it another new battery, and I was kind of told put a battery tender on it, and call it good.
Makes me think it's a common problem. I suppose we could all file complaints with http://www.nhtsa.gov/
If they get enough complaints, they might make Honda fix it.

Was able to get the radio repaired at a local radio repair shop, Custone Electromotive Inc in Whitby Ontario Canada at a cost of $105. Their phone number is 905-668-2664. Much less than the price I was quoted from a Honda dealer on a new radio unit ($2,244.48). The intigrated chip in the radio (TDA7560)fails to ground causing the battery to go flat when the bike is turned off. It took them a week to get the chip in but only and hour to fix. Check to see if you have a parasidic draw on the battery while the bike is turned off and if it is in the circuit that supples the radio, fuse 22 I believe that might be your problem.
