Hello evryone,
This seem to be a nice forum site.,i own a vstar 650 fr last 2 yrs and enjoy it, put HKrome and rejetted with dyno..can see lot more power now, It use to sign off during gear shift 2 and/or 4 sometimes and i was told to lean the mixture which i did and that problem went away, but only on windy days when you are at good speed and you declutch it some times signs off and once started will be ok. I did experience this before putting the pipes. Does anyone hav a similar problem or know of any remedy..I wonder if its just about more fine tuning...thnks

I'm familiar with the phrase "sign off", but not from anything I have ever heard with motorcycles. It's a common phrase used to indicate withdrawing from a network connection or broadcast. Is that what you are talking about? Do you have a transmitter on your bike, transmitting telemetry for testing some kind of newly installed hardware or positional data like Lo-Jack or APRS?
regards, Joe

Sorry...sign off means the engine goes off.

If you have a cable clutch the housing could be flexing against a wire and has worn off the insulation.thereby grounding out the ign.just something to check. I worked on a freind's volusia for three days until I realized that every time I turned the h-bars to the right it shorted out the ignition on the frame, because of a wire rubbed raw-- .If your clutch is hydraulic I don't know.BUT IT'S SOMETHING TO CHECK. HAD A SECOND THOUGHT. "WIND' MEANS A CHANGE IN ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE,WHICH CAN CHANCE THE EFFECTS OF CARBURATION OR EFI.YOU DID SAY YOU HAD IT RE-JETTED RIGHT?IF YOU FUEL TANK DOSEN'T HAVE A MANUAL SHUTOFF IT ALSO OPPERATES ON ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE AND VACUME. YOU MAY WANT TO RESEARCH YOUR FUEL TANK VALVE SPECS. OR MAYBE CHECK YOUR GAS CAP.
