Before you worry about upgrading the bike, you might want to consider upgrading your telecommunications equipment. If you replaced that WWII teletype with a computer, you would't have to yell at everyone :-)

Check out http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/ .  They have extensive discussion on Kawasaki Bikes.  Lots of good information over there.

In most cases you don't need a processor if you replace pipes only.  If you want to get the most performance from your 900 you'll need to replace the exhaust (2-1 are the best performers), add a new intake, and NOW you add the processor.  If you do the work yourself, figure in the vicinity of $1k for the new parts, depending on which you purchase.

As for "slip-ons", the closest thing to a slip-on is the one made by Roadhouse.

Are looking for a change in looks, performance, or sound?  If you are happy with the performance of the 900, which most people are(if not look for a bigger bike), then improve the sound a little and the looks alot with KAWASAKI VULCAN VN 900 EXHAUST CAP INSERTS found on eBay.  The reviews are very favorable and I love mine.  Very inexpensive and more sound/rumble can be gained by drilling a hole through the back side of the exhaust tube without actually changing the factory exhaust flow through the muffler, no change there, no warranty problems down the road.
