I have just become the owner of a 2002 V-Star with only 1203 miles on it. Got a great deal, but the bike has been sitting since 2005, The previous owner put a new battery in the bike this week and tried to crank the bike ith the old gas in it, it would not stay running. We have drained the gas and put new plugs in the bike but it still will not remain running, the bike is brand new almost so we don't think there is anything majorly wrong with it. We did take the breather off and an stuck a rag in the air hole and block off almost all of the air and it will crank and run. Pull the rag out and it cuts off, replace the breather and cover and it will not stay running? any suggestions? thanks bigrstt

put a full can of sea foam in the tank. pull the choke all the way out and start it. The 650 carbs have a very small jet and can plug up with old gas. If the sea foam doesn't work you will have to clean or have someone clean your carbs. Good luck
