I haven't ridden in a few years, but I'm looking at getting back going. I'm about 6'1" and have been looking around at something thats not too big, still nimble but doesn't sacrifice too much on power. I went to talk to a few guys and they were saying I might be a little tall for a Sportster. The Harley guys suggested a Dyna.
I've liked the Harley Sportster and other bikes like the Yamaha Road Star and Honda Shadow but I'm completely open to suggestions. If anyone's around 6 ft that can say what's been comfortable to them, that'd be great too.
Can anyone help??

There are obviously lots of choices. The Dyna is a good choice. Triumph's Rocket is also a solid choice. If you are buying used the Valkerie is good choice...there aren't any new ones(honda stopped making them a few years back) Big mistake on thier part!.. You really don't want anything less than 11 or 1200 cc's;due to ride quality. A big bike is like a beautiful woman..Once you learn your way around her, you'll find you belong there....Have Fun.

I am 6'2" and I ride a 750 Honda Shadow Aero. I have installed a forward control kit to move the foot controls to a more comfortable position and I am considering handlebar risers. A Sportster will probably work if you are willing to customize it to fit you.
Unfortunately, manufacturers seem to hope you will buy more displacement than you need just to get a bike that fits. Fortunately, you can make a smaller bike fit by customizing it.

i'm 5'8" and found the sporty to tall and top heavy for me so it should be fine for you. look at the triumph bikes, they kind of tall and look cool too. but of course you can't go wrong with a victory vegas ![]() but what you really need to do is sit and ride as many as you can.
if the house is a rocking don't bother knocking, just come on in...SRV
