i have a 1986 honda shadow vt700c i'm fixing up and found a guy that listed aftermarket parts that would fit. the guy also listed that a 1988 vt800c shadow has alot of parts you can use. so far  the aftermarket parts have worked that i wanted to use but i'm going up to look at a 1988 vt800c tomarrow and woundered if anyone else could tell me if any parts would work. i haven't found a 1986 vt700c to take parts off i don't need much mostly accessories. i'm having the carbs adjust as of today a friend picked it up to work on it. i thought it was out of sync but he said it was perfect so he thinks it has a jet plugged it skips a beat every now and then and everything else checked out so the only thing left is the front carb. not finding much aftermarket to fit or listed so if the vt800c will work on parts i found one with just about every thing i'm looking for except a wind screen and saddle bags. so i thought i would take what i wanted and see if anyone needed any vt800c parts the motor is in great shape with clean title and just has a bad module and alittle rust i guess i'll know better tomarrow. but if anyone has any info please let me know thanks for reading this post. kyle  

well i picked up the 1988 vt800c shadow and so far some of the accessories will fit the (risers, handle bars, the side cover have the same parts number, the sissy bar looks like it might fit i'll know later when i get the 86 vt700c back, the crash bars look like they fit, the gauges are the same, battery box and strap the same, and the forks look to be the same but will have to check it out. so if anyone is looking for parts for there 86-87 vt700c look to find a 88 vt800c for parts. plus i'll have this vt800c up for sale with the rest of the parts, frame & motor with clean title that i don't need if anyone interestedsend me an email knbdezign@hotmail.com thanks
