Hi everyone, a newbie here trying to learn a bit. Thanks for your patience. I'm planning a charity motorcycle poker run and we have to decide between two routes: R1: About 90 miles circuit, including a 45min stretch on a country road and interstate. R2: About 45 miles circuit, with beach views but possibly in-town traffic? We have about 4 hours to complete the run, with probably 5 stops. Also, does the biker community resent having "mandatory" stops at each poker run location, or is that no big deal?
Thanks -- it's for a good cause -- military widows. We haven't had any experience planning a poker run, so if there's some general tips you have to make it lots of fun for our riders, and make lots of money for our military widows, please let me know.

HI; sounds like fun. You need a buy in 10-20$$ for the run at each stop there should be water to drink or a place to get some. At each stop you might think about a buy an extra card for 1-5$ If the particapent wants another card. But then that is his draw on exceptions. Get some sponcers with buy one get one free dinner or drinks at the local bar. Then you need to get a 50/50 drawing going as well. Sell tickets at every stop. We did 1$ each but I have done 2for a buck. At the end of the run you should have a BBQ something not too expensive. dogs and burgers or just chicken ,chips. If you go with the 20$ buy in that should be enought for some food and drinks water or pop ,coffie is cheep.. The pop and coffie and food should be a donation from a Wall mart or a local grocrey store. The pop should come from Pepsi or Coke. We get it from them all the time FREE.. Then you may oppt for a vender that takes care of all the food and just charges the folks. After a long run people are hungry and tired. The lips will need some nice cool ones..also Buisness owners were very helpful with door prizes if you want to dorr prizes. The 50/50 drawing should be done at the dinner after the run and door prizes also.Try to get a large enought place to acomadate all th bikes..and other stuff... GET A LOT OF HELP these things take time and people.... HOPE this helps most that I am not too late..scruffy..
