I have just started riding again after a 20 year break. I recently purchased a Suzuki C50. Until the past couple of weeks ago all of my riding was done during the day. I have had to go into work earlier these last two weeks so my morning commute is still dark. I noticed that my low beam headlight only illuminates the road about 40-50 feet in front. On the roads I travel, there is no other light. My high beam is great it shows the road for probably 300- 350 feet ahead. I looked at my headlight and can't find any type of adjustment. The bracket is rigid and is bolted in place. I can't find anything in the manual for adjusting it. Does anyone have a suggestion for adjusting it upwards to light the road further when the low beam is on?

While I haven't looked at a C50, every bike I've ridden in the last 30 years had two small screw holes just outside the rim of the headlight glass, in the trim around the front of the headlight, generally located at about 4 O'clock & 8 O'clock. Looking inside those small holes, you'll find a #2 phillips head screw, completely out of sight. It can take a little practice to be able to get the screwdriver angle just right, to reach the screw heads. One of the screws adjusts the headlight beam vertically and the other screw adjusts it horizontally.

Hey Joe, I found the adjustment screws I adjusted it at lunch. For anyone else as clueless as me, on the C50 the adjustment screws are located inside two cutouts on the headlight rim. The up and down is on the drivers (left) side and the side to side is on the passenger (right) side. I turned my light on and shined it against a wall. I'll find out tonight if I got it right. Thanks again Joe!!

I'm glad what I said was helpful. Since I hadn't looked at a C50, it might not have been. Every time someone comes out with a new bike, they always try to make something on it completely different from the usual. I'm waiting for the day someone comes out with a bike that has the headlight adjustments hidden under the seat :-)
