I am customizing my '82 Virago and I want to chop the pipes to get rid of the big cone mufflers. I know that I will lose performance, but I am obviously not riding it for speed. Will that wreck anything?
I know technically you are supposed to re-jet the carbs but what if I dont? Thanks.
Sorry for the double post but doesn't look like as many people comment in the customizing section.

HI. I did kinda the same thing you want to. I have a C50T and I removed all the baffels from the inside. IT sounds good. I was told that I would need a fuel controler because I had leaned out the fuel. I removed th Neg battery termenal and waited about a min or so. Reatached. I have had NO trouble with the fuel or the exhaust. ( the reason for the battery disconnect is that the Suzuki has a learning ecm) I was told by the dealer here. I have 19500 miles now RUNs GREAT You haven't changed the air intake any? If you do you may need to rejet. More air in more air out. When unchanged all you have done is make it loud HOPE this helps some... scruffy
