My 2003 VTX 1300S has a "quirk" that seems to of become more pronounced. Below the speed of 45MPH, if you relax your grip on the bars, you get a shimmy that starts mildly, progressing to violent...if allowed to go that far. I've checked all of the obvious parameters, tire wear, tire pressure, ect. Any ideas?

Have you checked to see if it is still in balance? This is not something most can check for themselves, you may have to take it to your local shop.

I had a shimmy at about 35-40 mph also. after putting new tires on I had a mechanic check and he found that the steering head was loose. It was tightened and the shimmy disappeared. You might get that checked.
