I just purchased an 04 V-Star 1100 Silverado with 6000 miles on it. This being my 1st bike ever owned with limited ridding experience. It is pretty much stock and the previous owner added few (if any) custom accessories. I want to immediately add an additional red LED brake light, custom exhaust and a front light bar. I would also like to change out the headlight to a brighter one since I plan to do most of my ridding at night when Atlanta traffic is lighter. I'll post a picture shortly. ... Suggestions???? Thanks in advance for the input!

Higher wattage headlight plus driving lights? You might want to find out what your charging circuit can handle first. Cruisers today have better charging circuits than 30 years ago, but still, it's pretty easy to draw enough current that the battery doesn't get charged properly any more.
You want your alternator to be able to put out at least 10 amps more than all your electrical loads added together. That way, you can still quickly recharge the battery after using the starter to crank the engine. Anything less, tends to reduce battery life.
My suggestion would be to go with a higher wattage headlight OR low wattage driving lights, not both. Take the time to figure out just exactly where you actually need more light. If you need it to reach out farther in front of you, go with the higher wattage headlight. If you need better illumination to the sides, go with a pair of 30-35 watt driving lights aimed slightly down and out.

Had to get a new user name, I canceled my account by accident. I'm simply looking to have more visibility. Furthermore, I was even planning on putting small bright lights around the bottom of the crash bars. I see lot's of motorcycles around with those and it looks great, but more important is a safety feature.
I'm a bit worried about people not seeing me and pulling out in front of me...Atlanta traffic is terrible and people drive crazy. I ordered a flashing red LED light to hook up to the back brake light also.
I guess need to rethink my lighting...didn't think about the battery issue.

Okay, being seen in daylight by people who deliberately overlook you is a whole different goal. Most of us ride with our headlight on bright during the day. Nothing your electrical system can handle will actually improve that significantly. On the other hand, a headlight modulator WILL make you much harder to ignore during the daylight hours and it won't strain your electrical system.
For the sides, high intensity LED marker lights is probably the best bet. It would take a bunch of them to equal the additional load of driving lights. If you look at LED lights for the marine market, you'll find them in two catagories for Coast Guard approval, 2 mile visibility for small craft and 5 mile visibility for larger vessels. That's a lot more visibility than the DOT stuff will give you :-)
