Dee,Japanese bikes are pretty reliable. They don't have good resale value;and you should be able to buy a good used one pretty cheap.If you buy new, you'd be better off buying American or European, so you can get some of your money back later. Most dealerships have some type of warranty on the used bikes they sell.If you buy from an individual, it may be cheaper ,but no warranty. The bike should fit you:Seated,you should be able to touch the ground with both feet.The seating position should not have you bent over or your arms streched too far.
