I am restarting my riding after a 20 year haitus. I recently purchased a Suzuki C50 and I love it! when I rode before I never worried about gloves especially in the summer, but with age comes wisdom and maybe a little more fear!! I have been looking at mesh gloves, leather gloves, and some with steel knockle covers. I just want some that will keep my hands cool in the Texas heat when it's 105 degrees with some form of protection. I don't think I need the steel knuckle covers. I also want something that will be comfortable after riding for a couple of hours at a time. I have tried some on at motorcycle shops but they seem cumbersome for shifting and working all the controls. Any recommendations or suggestions? Thanks

if you have any kind of bike meet locally there is usually someone selling leather. try to find a pair with a little padding in the palm or if the padding bothers ya just find a pair that fits. you can usually get a good pair for $10, so buy 2!! and ride safe.
if the house is a rocking don't bother knocking, just come on in...SRV

I wear the River Road "Sturgis" gloves (24.95 from MotorcycleSuperstore.com) and am totally satisfied with them.

I use tourmaster gloves and a tourmaster mesh jacket. They breathe well. The gloves are beginning to wear out, but I don't care. They will be thrown away after the summer anyway. I have beefy tourmaster leather gloves that I use the rest of the year and there is no sign of wear on them. The biggest problem I have in the heat is wearing a full face helmet. I bought a black one because I think black looks cool, but I get a headache after about 30 to 40 minutes in heat over 110.

Hate to be the one to promote the host, but, Motorcycle Cruiser just did a summer glove review. This month's issue.
I own a pair from the list, and I had no problems with their comments.

HI; I have been buying the gloves I wear from juillian distributors.com .Their stuff is good quality and cheep. I have a pair that is 2 years old and the thread is just showing wear. The temp gets between 89-105 in the summer. I wear them all the time. You can get lined or not. I have the lined it absorbes the moisture and the wind cools the hands down. These aare the gontlet style. They work well in the winter from about 35 deg. and up. Below that I have the winter gloves with covers from the juillian .. They are very warm.. GOOD choice I have a C50T I have had trouble free 18K so far. Ride safe and have fun..OH also check out jafrum leathers. This site has more stuff at very low prices. I have bought stuff from both and have been very satisfied with the service and products....scruffy
