Hello All, Until I can afford a Goldwing, about 2012, I was hoping someone can tell where I can go to have a hook up for an ipod or satellite radio installed on my 2008 V-Star 1300 cruiser. Do places like Best Buy or Circuit City do this? I live in Chester County just outside of Philly, PA. Thanks, OldDOG

Mobile audio is sort of a difficult thing unless your state allows the use of earphones. If that's the case where you are all you need is your iPod and either your pocket or a device mount for the handlebars. If you can't do the earphones you need to be prepared to send some cash, probably $400-$500 worth. This is because you need an amplifier and weatherproof speakers and they need to look good since they stick out like a sore thumb. If you go satellite radio you'll also need a power adapter, antenna, and mount for it. Cruisercustomizing sells speaker kits as do others. Just Google xm radio and motorcycle to find the satellite radio kits. A cheaper option is to buy a Chatterbox radio and helmet kit. It outfits your helmet with two thin speakers, a mic, and a transmitter for talking bike-to-bike. It also has an aux port for plugging in iPods. Cost there is about $200.

Thanks Wolf. I think I'll lok into the Chatterbox option. I really don;t want to mount speakers on the bike. You're right, they stick out like a sore thumb. Be Safe, O.D.

I had the same problem. Just bought a MP3 player and a set of Koss stereo headphones Model #KSC75 @radio shack, $27.00. The band that fits over the head snaps off the headphones, put velcro on them and they fit right inside the helmet. Plug them into your music source and your ready to go. Music volume is okay until you get above 80mph.

Thanks Road King. I think speakers that attach to the inside of the helmet is the best way to go. Does anyone know of some good wireless setups for an IPod or satellite radio?
