What's the best/easiest/quickest way to clean those nasty spokes? Love the looks but seem to be hard to keep clean. What's everyone's secret???

Back in the day I used to use Brasso and a little bit of wheel acid and a good stiff (metal) brush. Kept mine really clean and the wheel acid eats up the rust. DO NOT leave the wheel acid on for long periods of time it will eat up the chrome. The Brasso gives it a really good shine for a little bit of effort and puts a thin film to help keep it clean. Hope this helps.

HI; I use a babby bottle cleaner. With dish soap. The one with all the brissels. It gets in and out with ease. Then I use the H-D strips to polish the spokes. IT works and is cheep. scruffy

I just bought an 08 Yamaha 650 Vstar Classic and it has spoked wheels so this is a timely topic for me. Does anyone know of a good spray on rinse off cleaner?

Hi Stephanie, SNAP!! Just got myself a gleaming 650 classic. Because it is so clean, I am currently just washing once a week, and concentrating on exhaust / engine. Is the build quality on these good ?? Should I baby bottle the spokes religiously every week ????

So far I'm impressed with the build quality, but I have to admit I've no idea what the baby bottle method of cleaning the wheels is all about, can someone elaborate?

My wife uses Moto Clean 900 from MotorEX. Its touchless and can be used on the whole bike. Spray, wait, hose it down, dry. Just remove the baseball cards from the spokes first! It also does an excellent job on the cast wheels on my ride.

I havent tried it yet but I was wondering about those foam power balls you attach to the end of a cordless drill to polish spokes. They have ones now called minis that look like they would work good.

Take it to a coin car wash and use the wheel cleaner, or the engine cleaner. it applies it a low pressure.

I always just went for a ride in the rain. Whatever came off was good and whatever didn't was good too :-)
Serously though, unless you're trying to deal with crud slung off a rediculously over-lubed chain, whatever you use to wash the road dirt and oil off the chrome, should work fine on the spokes too.
