Hello to all and thank you in advance for your suggestions.
I have a 1994 Intruder 1400 VS and my problem is this. When I am cruising down the highway at 60 or so and I lay on the throttle, the engine seems to rev up without holding in the clutch. This does adjust after a brief moment of high rev and the power is transfered to the drive train. What is causing this. What do I need to do to fix this.
Thank you
Johnny

I own an '01 1400, and from the time I bought it over 3 years ago, I had the same problem. I looked into it, and the problem is that the clutch is slipping. The main reson is the weak clutch springs from the factory, and it could also be the oil you use or actual clutch wear. If you go to intruderalert.com, click on cafe and you will find gobs of info on your bike. A member there sells afttermarket clutch springs that do the trick for most people, but I haven't had time to mess with it yet on my bike. Good luck!

this is VERY easy to solve. There is a set of clutch springs you can purchase for about $50 and it will eliminate this problem completely. If you need more information, let me know. I added mine at about 32,000 miles and now have 45000 miles. I bought the bike used at 28000 miles (1994 intruder 1400). Since the replacement I've been pleased. But be warned...the instant-power will become apparent!
