Having just purchased this new bike I am well pleased with it except I would like a slightly less muffled exhaust sound. The Vance & Hines Long Shots look good on the Roadstar but I hear they are very load. Any suggestions for a good exhaust system for the Roadstar with a little more noise.

I have the cobera shotgun drag pipes on mine. Has a real good sound if you stay out of the throttle. If your getting on it real hard it can get loud.

Anything you dislike about the Road Star? I am looking at purchasing one in the next month or two.

I have not put too many miles on it due to the weather but love the looks and feel of the bike. Having been a fan of HD's Fatboy, this bike is quite similar in styling. There are several aftermarket accessories available. Once I have more miles accumulated I'll update you. As for now, I really like this motorcycle and don't think you would be disappointed.

With regard to aftermarket pipes. Give some thought toi Roadhouse 2 into 1 pipes. I have a suzuki LC1500 and I really like the sound. Mellow but not too loud. I've never liked the sound of drag pipes on anything. They're terrible. Loud pipes DO NOT save lives and the police everywhere are getting tougher on cycles than they used to. Take it from a retired cop.

I have an 07 RS and love it. I installed the National Cycle PeaceMaker slip ons and love the sound choice. I can run with full baffled pipes and it is just as quiet as stock. The wife loves it. Hit the switch and it's a straight through pipe with baffles. Nice deep sound and roars when you open it up. I also installed a Barons BAK, jetting, ported intake manifold. This bike is a blast to cruise or tear up the streets. Very fast. This motor does not like to lug around town, so keep out of fifth gear until you're above 60 MPH. I have had the valve guides reamed due to Sticky Valve Syndrome common with this motor(1700). Great Bike.

2007 Roadstar Midnight Silverado. Upgraded to Bub Jug Huggers, did performance air, jet kit and module uping RPM, torque and HP. Rides great, excellent fuel economy, put on over 12000km last summer. Like to putter so carbs. are great. Idles easy, drags like crazy and cruises at over 200km/hr.

I bought mine in January of this year and have yet to put the first thousand on it but so far I have no complaints with the bike. Some of the ergonomics of the bike didn't fit me to well but all have been corrected with factory parts or after market parts.

Very pleased with the Roadhouse Classic 2 into 1 exhaust on my Roadstar. Looks good and has a nice low rumble. Loud compared to stock but not to loud.

Hi,
I've had my Roadstar for just over a year. There is nothing I dislike about the bike. It's fast enough for me, looks good and there is a lot of after market available for it. Great value for money and build quality. I would check out the Roadstar Riders forum if you want to find out more about these bikes. They are putting fuel injection on the bike for 2008. I'm happy with my carbed model though - adds character to the bike IMHO.

I checked out the Roadhouse Classic 2 into 1 an definitely like the appearance. Did you have to reject with this exhaust system? Read somewhere that it was not required with this exhaust system. Appreciate the suggestion.

I also own a Roadstar. There are 3 stages of simple modifications you can do to your stock exhaust at a minimal cost(tools you might need to purchase)Each stage is less restrictive and a little louder. I am at stage 3 which is louder yet nonobtrusive. In depth explanations are availabe in Roadstar forums. Try this first, you might be pleasantly surprised as I was.

I just did the stage 1 on my 07 Roadstar and now she sounds like she looks. My buddy said "It sounds like it's got some throat". Made the exhaust note deeper and just a hair louder, so I don't think I'll have to worry about the cops and noise laws.
You don't usually need to rejet unless you get a big air kit installed. Just changing the exhaust shouldn't mess with the carb too much.

I found a utube video with the stage 3 conversion along with a test ride. This is how my stage 3 sounds and no rejetting was necessary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZB9UgTZYrw&feature=related
