Whats up guys, im new to riding so give me a break if i ask dump questions, i usually just work on my cars. I just got an 83 honda magna from my brother as he dosnt want it and its free. He said he changed the o rings in the carb, and that it would need some adjusting, But the bike wont run long enough to do anything, it starts and then as soon as i give it some gas it konks out. I got it started for a while and rode it around the block, but it died twice and now it seems like the battery is going dead. Im so frusterated with it. can anyone help me?

Did you put the airbox back on before you tried to start it up? The carbs need the vacuum created by the air restriction to draw fuel. Start it on the choke and let it warm up on the choke at about 2000rpm, ease it off the choke after 30sec to 1min if it wants to die give it more choke, then start looking for why it wants to die, probably an airleak after the carbs somewhere.

HI: How old is the gas? IF it is a year even 6 mounths I would get rid of it.drain the carbs. charge the battery and follow the other post. Remove the plugs and put new in or clean the old ones they may be fuel fouled now. Does the exhaust smell rich? Does it seem to just run out of fuel? The fuel filter may be pluged up from the old gas. Try the cheep things first. I have found thet the trouble is the cheep fix most of the time. GOOD LUCK ...scruffy
