Has anyone ordered anything from The Helmet Source? I placed an order over 2-1/2 weeks ago and have been trying to get information on my order. I've tried calling every number they provide and always get voice mail and, if you can believe it, the mail boxes are always full! No reply to my emails.....just terrible to deal with. They are a sponser of this site...does anyone know how to get in touch with these people??? Has anyone had a better experience? Thanks! Old Dog

I have yet to order from them, but I have experienced a problem with another internet vendor, RideGear. I ordered a pair of gloves from them in early January 2008 along with some other gear. The other gear shipped, but the gloves didn't. It is now the end of June and I have yet to receive my gloves or a refund, which I have repeatedly asked for. All they say is that it will be processed in the next billing cycle. Do they only have 1 billing cycle a year? Anyone else have any problems like this? If so, what did you do to resolve it?

No problem. I would make sure to contact them right away by email and/or phone to let them know you haven't received your order yet. Keep on em. Good luck.

Oops, sorry. I didn't read you first post too closely before I posted my last reply. I see you have contacted them repeatedly. Good luck with getting in contact with them. Have you tried regular mail? Or a lawyer or the Better Business Bureau?

You may want to contact their state's Attorney General's office with a complaint. Make sure you copy your AG's office (it's an election year). One of them is going to move on the complaint.
Copy the vendor on the complaint. They will generally be contrite when a really big dog gets loosed on them.

Hi Guys, Just got back from vacation and read your posts. Thanks for the suggestions; I'll give them a try as I still haven't heard from them. I think I'll try the main forum to see if anyone else has had the same problem. Thanks, Kev

I attempted ordering from the helmet source today, and when I got to check out, it told me that my CVN number was unauthorized. At that point I assumed that my order was not and would not be processed. I didn't recieve a confirmation #. I didn't recieve a confirmation e-mail. I don't even have an order number or a way to sign in on the website to track my order. Later today my credit card was declined and I knew something wasn't right. After checking my pending transactions, I discovered that I had been charged TWICE. I dropped them an e-mail, because I ran into the same wall that you did, mail box full. Fair warning to all ya'll who shop online, the helmet source is bad news! Sorry that I can't give you a more hopeful review, cause I'd say my experience is already doubly worse. If you have found any better way to contact these folks, please let me know!

Old Dog; I ordered an HCI polo helmet back in June 2008 from the The Helmet Source and they sent me a THS (The Helmet Source) clone which wasn't even shown on their web page for half helmets. I've been trying for two months to get my full refund back after returning there helmet. The only way I've been able to contact them is by email. There is no live customer service. Guess why? Probably too many complaints to handle. I would not buy anything from them.

Placed an order for goggles in August, received different glasses, not the goggles that I had ordered. Communication was terrible, after finally receiving a response I got an RMA for a refund. It is now almost November, 3 months later, and I have sent several emails with only a couple responses, one response in Sept stating my refund would be processed within the week, almost 2 months later no refund, no response, or acknowledgement. Since then I have found several negative reviews/comments on different motorcycle forums of people getting burned on orders never received or refunds never received and impossible to reach anyone over the phone. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THE HELMETSOURCE.COM OR 999BIKERGLASSES.COM!!! YOU HAVE BEEN FOREWARNED.

You should file a complaint with your credit card company explaining your situation with The Helmet Source and they will assist you in getting your refund. My card company helped me with mine. Good luck.

I know this is near 1 yr later but I have just gotten out of court with this business....let me tell you some about him. I have a new business of custom rhinestone helmets and we got screwed by this owner dave tognetti. I should have read up on him everything you have complained here about is true and is normal business tactics with this a-hole, he takes the most advantage from internet sales just as stated lies about shipping or returns then lies to your CC Co. about the condition when it is returned to dispute the charge back and usually wins and resells your helmet. I know the BBB rating is F read about him, there are alot of consumer complaints filed with the state attrny general but they wont give details? Believe what you have read here this is a bad business to deal with pass this to all clubs and cycle groups you can....help stop people like him.....

Thanks roadrunner09...sorry to hear about your hassles. I had RideGear, Helmet Source and 999BikerGlasses all bookmarked but have deleted them.
The RideGear header said it was part of the Cruiser Customizing family...does anyone know if Cruiser Customizing is part of this sham? I've never done business with them and would be leery now.
On the plus side, I've had great response and service from both Motorcycle Superstore and Competition Accessories.
Everyone, ride safe, watch out for cagers on cell phones and thank The Man Upstairs for every safe ride.
