This is also my first bike, let me tell you this, it is awesome! My first concern was would I be able to hold it up, trust me, it just about holds itself up. It is a great bike; you will need to get used to the weight, but once get past that you will love it. It is a smooth ride!

As a first time rider, you picked a couple of BIG bikes (except for the Boulevard). You may want to look at something in the 750-1300 class. It should be easy to find one used, spend a season riding it then trade up to something bigger. Always better to start a little smaller and work your way up.

I bought a C50T about a month ago and love it. It was my first bike and I think it's an excellent one to learn on. I'm 6'3 180 and it fits me very comfortably. I have no problems riding with the wife on it 2 up, although it maybe a little small for longer trips (> 200 miles).

I also had not ridden in 20 years. I'm 49 years 6'0" 215 LBS. I was torn between the Road King and the Kawa 1600 Nomad. In the end, it was looks, price, and the test ride that led me to a black '06 Nomad. But the Road King is awesome.
I took the MSF course and started slow. It took a while to adjust to the size, I was fearful at first but my confidence grew with each ride. After 2 years, I'm still happy with the choice.

If you're still looking, you might add the Yamaha 1300 Royal Star to your group. My brother bought one new 3 years ago and WOW...what a great bike! It's got a massive frame and is long, low, and unbelievably smooth. He's 6'1" and has ridden that bike all over Colorado, Arkansas, Texas, Canada, and more...and it's still just purring along. With 4 cylinders and 100 horse-power, the bike has plenty of power for climbing mountains or cruising at 90mph in Montana. I just drove it for the first time yesterday and LOVED it. (I'm only 5'9", but had no problems.) Good luck with whatever bike you go with! Melanie
