Hey y'all from Tennessee!!!
I am new to the forum and new to cycling.
I've already bought and read "Proficient Motorcycling" and am taking the beginner's MSF course tomorrow.

I do, however, have one small issue.  Please forgive my ignorance

I have a Fulmer AF81 Half Helmet. It has a strap on one side with a button and two d-rings with a fastener on the other. I have no idea how to secure this thing to my head, help!!!

Not a problem, You run the strap through the big hole in the two d-rings from inside to outside. Then loop the strap in between the two d-rings going outside the one that is farthest from your chin and inside the other. Now cinch the strap tight but comfortably and snap the button to keep the loose end from flapping in the breeze.
