I have a 2006 bought it new (late last year) I now have 2600 miles on it. I use it mostly for work and drive about 80 miles a day 3 days a week and am getting 45-50 mpg but it seems to be getting better with each tank, the last tank was 51 mpg. I am planning on taking a 4000 mile trip this June/July and am really worried about the fuel tank 150 miles. I am thinking of putting a 1 gal gas can in my saddle bag.

I also was ready to buy the 1300 Yamaha, but instead wound buying the c90T. I love this bike. No REGRETS. I have had it for 2 1/2 years and already have 25,000 miles on it. The only thing I wish was diff is the gas tank. 3.7 is not bad but 4.6 would have been alot better. On a normal Sunday we will do a 190 - 210 mile trip and the other riders have to wait while I gas up. It;s really not too much of a problem but that extra .8 gallon would really help. But even after 25K miles i have never had it in the shop for repairs and the rear tire is just now ready to be changed , while my buddies had to have theirs changed at 11K miles. I would strongly recommend buying it.

Well, I don't know your income but have you checked on BMW? I know a very large and tall man 300-400lbs who rides one and loves it.

I have a 2007 C90T. Average mileage around 45 in the summer and 41 in the cold weather... difference due to seasonal blends of gas. On longer the interstate I have gotten over 48. Usually gas up at about 120 miles, but can go about 140 before trouble.
