I have about 200 miles on my new VTX-1300C. Still learning a lot every day I ride. A few questions: 1. Only went about 100 miles on a full tank of gas, maybe my choke was out too much using more gas than needed. Any idea of gas mileage on this bike? 40, 50 MPG? 2. Still hesitant about taking turns too fast with big big (big for me!), 650 lbs, went over in my "steep" driveway, first day driving, kind of embarrasing to ego, and my arms are still sore from pushing bike back up! Any ideas of how fast I should be taking turns? I went through class already, but this was only 125 Kawi, much smaller than current Honda! Thanks for advice!

Welcome to the wonderful world of motorcycles. I wouldn't even look at the gas mileage until you have at least 1000 miles on your bike. Everythings still's tight and your mileage will improve as the miles add up. Some advice I tell new riders about cornering is to look at the speed advisory plates under the curve signs. Because you are just new to riding, I would suggest that on speed plates with 35 mph and above, you never exceed this speed by more then 5 mph. For speed plates 30 and under, never exceed this recommended speed. Continue to do this until you build up your confidence. Be sure and lean into the corner and throttle out. For a left hand corner, start at the right side of the lane and follow a line that puts you in the left tire track about midway thru the corner. Now advance the throttle and end up back in the right tire track. The opposite applies for right hand corners. Start slow and build your speed up slowly. You will soon learn both you and your motorcycles limits. Never, I repeat, never exceed your comfort zone. Now practice practice practice.

did anyone ask you yet why you are riding your bike with the choke in the open position. after the bike warms up the choke is supposed to be totally closed!you can ruin your engine if not.

bus biker: there was a "fine-tune" adjustment on the RT side of bike, which I did not see until I brought bike into HOnda dealer. Everything is good now, thx
