I've been looking for my "Dream bike" but I don't think it exists! If I could design it it would have: -short rake -inverted forks -belt/shaft drive -fuel injection -6-speed overdrive -between 1300-1800cc -water cooled * I want it to handle like a sport bike on twisty roads, cruise like a goldwing on the highway and look like a typical cruiser.
the Victory Hammer is the closest I've seen, but it's water cooled and frankly I worry about the availablity of parts. I put 10,000 - 20,000 miles/year and don't want to spend time tracking down parts.
Any ideas?

Go ride a Valkyrie. Doesn't have fuel injection or a sixth gear, but fits the bill otherwise. If you don't carry a passenger or luggage, the rune might work. The Valk looks to be the the last bike I'll ever own,It's a tremendous amount of fun,and lasts forever.

I believe the Kawasaki Vulcan Meanstreak fits your description. It has everything you are looking for, and has an MSRP of $11,099.
By the way, I do not own this model nor am I in the market for one, so my opinion is unbiased. I have ridden one, however, and they are incredible! Check it out, it may just be what you are looking for.

Looking for the perfect cruiser? Look no further then the Yamaha Stratoliner S. It has a 1854cc (113 ci) air cooled engine with two engine balancers. It handles like a sport bike and you can cruise all day on it. I averaged 45 mpg on my trip from Ohio to Wyoming. The engine never missed a beat whether I was at 2,000 or 12,000 feet above sea level. It has Yamaha's EXUP valve to maintain good back pressure at all speeds. It's been tested in a wind tunnel so you won't get any buffeting when riding behind or passing large trucks. I have 27,000 miles on mine and never had any problems what so ever. This is the "perfect" cruiser. BUY IT!!

Wow, I'm not sure how I missed it, but I think you may be right. The reviewers seem to like it too. Thumbs up on handling "twisties" and stability/comfort at higher speeds.
Thanks for the tip!
