Hi,
I have a VTX 1300C, and it's my first cruiser. Even understanding that cruisers have a peculiar handling, specially regards cornering, I would like to have
a more firm riding. As a biker used to ride mainly street and dual-purpose bikes, I would like to improve the stability and maybe reduce that annoying trend to drag - ok, maybe I'm riding the wrong kind of bike, but I still think that the stock suspensions could be better. What would be the most suitable model - fork springs, rear shocks and whatever needed - for the expected behaviour I'm looking for? Here is what I would like to achieve:
. Firmer riding;
. Less fork diving when breaking;
. No lowering the bike.
Thanks and regards,
Paulo

I highly recommend the Progressive Suspension 440 (IAS) shocks on cruisers.  They improve the handling dramatically.  When I worked at Progressive I did a lot of the cruiser testing with the shocks and nothing works as well.  The IAS shocks "sense" when the rear wheel hits a bump and lets the wheel move rather than transmit the jarring to the bike and rider.  We originally tested the shocks on a Honda Valk.  but the work on any twin shock cruiser.  I have the same technology on my 1500 goldwing and it still works great at 98,000 miles.
