I don't know about the real tall ones but I can see raising Bars to a degree that it will make you sit more upright. In my thinking by doing this it will releave a lot of lower back ache from leaning over to reach the bars. I have thought about raising mine just for that reason but haven't yet.

I have a V-star 1100 Silverado and would love to find some bars that add about 4-6 inches of rise and 3-4 inches of pull back. When I sit forward on the bike it's much more comfortable, but it feels a bit "forced". If I could sit normal and not have that "reaching and bent over" feel that would be awesome. Mini apes would do that. And I'm only 5'7". Someone 6' plus must really suffer....

For some risers, you may want to look at:

May not give you quite as much as you are looking for, but, you wouldn't need new brake lines, cables, wires, etc.

I put some 13.5 Flanders on my 1500 Vulcan Classic. What I like about them is it feels like I'm riding a motorcycle now. My hands rest just below level with my sholders and is very nice position. Wouldn't have a bike with out them now.

I have always wondered the same thing, to ME, they look very uncomfortable, I could not see taking a long ride with them. We have a guy here in Mo that has "ape Hangers" so HIGH, he actually has to hang from them because his butt doesnt reach the seat, and on top of that, he has to have "friends" push start him to get going ! ROFLMAO, Its the Craziest thing I have ever seen. His tailpipes also come up on the back to the same height as the apes. I just dont understand ??????????

Happy-hunter,
You don't understand... they look cool, very Easy Rider.
Of course, the fact that the blood drains out of your arms in 15 min is not relevant.  In the words of Snoopy, when questioned about wearing a fur coat in summer responded "some of us are willing to sacrifice comfort for style".

I hated them on bicyles because I couldn't steer, and I'm not fond of them on Motorcycles for the same reason.

When I was a kid, I thought they were the coolest thing, but now that I ride, I'll keep the standard handlebar on my V Star 1100 Custom. Works just fine for me.

Ride safe...
