Hello fellow riders,
I am stumped as to what kind of exhaust will best suit my bike. I have a Roadstar 06 and want to take and replace the factory exhaust with one that has a bit more sound but am trying to avoid to much work as in to re jetting the bike any suggetions? I was thinking slash tip exhaust but am unsure as to what will work the best or might be the best choice for me.

I have the same issue - I have an 06 Roadstar Silverado and have been inquiring as to which after market exhaust system will provide the right sound at the right price and will stand the test of time....not much luck in getting a response...ergo I'm glad to give you what I have found. Was really excited about the Hard Krome big 3s and the dealear I bought my bike from is pushing them. However I have found on other forums that some owners are having issues with them cracking at the headers, the welds between the inner and out pipes breaking and chrome peeling from the tips all of this within 6 mos to 2 years of installation. Some had issues with replacement, some didn't...Haven't found anything negative on Vance Hines...still looking...good luck!

In my opinion (and I'll get flamed I'm sure), re-jetting when you replace the exhaust is MOSTLY a waste. All bikes are set up too lean, so you will get some benefit from correcting that, but, it's not a requirement. If you think about it, the fuel and air get together in the carb, throttle body or ???. They then go into a cylinder, valves get closed, then the cylinder gets compressed, then zapped with a spark, and then the gases are discharged out the exhaust. The intake and exhaust are 3 steps away from each other.
I left my exhaust stock on my 800 because the 1500 had exactly the same pipe diameter. I replaced the intake filter with a K&N, and had it rejetted, since I just increased the air going in, so I needed more fuel. On one of the informal tests I did, 3rd gear rollon from 30 to 50 went from 5 sec to 4 sec.

Take a look at Roadhouse 2 into 1. I have a Suzuki LC1500 and I got the set with the serrated heat shields and I love the look and the sound. The company says that you don't have to rejet the bike, but mine already was.

I had a set of Hard Krome 3 inch staights on my Suzuki and found that they are very loud. I mean extremely loud.
