was on my way back from south fl to orlando, when a deer jumped out in front of me, i was going 65 mph, when i hit him square in the shoulders, his body swung around and hit my left leg broke my ankle, and my wifes ankle, the bike shook bu i held on and kept going, drove myself to the hospital, my wife needed 14 stitches, but the bike only had a bent fender the front chrome part of the forks were bent and my right turn signal light chrome part cracked, thats it, the vulcan is super tough, and i know i was real lucky cause the deer was big, at least 150 pounds. be careful out there people.

I recall riding from Ukiah, OR to Cutforth Park (roughly halfway to Heppner) one night while it was raining, and never saw so many deer before.
Was looking for the campground while making sure that my riding bud was still behind me and watching out for deer that dark, wet night.
Also, saw deer btw Ukiah and Sumpter after breakfast the next morning.
That same bud t-boned an elk on ID-21 (Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway north of Boise) near Robie Creek a few years ago. Rather hit a deer than an elk as those things are huge! A moose is another story.
