Hi, I'm completely new to riding and I'm lookin for a little help... I've done my research and I've decided on the Suzuki M50. What I do not know is what price range I should be looking for. I am a sell cars for a living and I'm assuming that motorcycles have considerable mark-up just as new cars do. If anyone has a general idea as to how much mark-up is in them I would appreciate an estimate. I'm trying to stay on a budget for a first bike so please let me know what a reasonable final price is for an 800cc bike. thanks- Mike

HI; I bought a C50T in 05. The dealer closest to me wanted $8500.00 this was alittle high. I drove about 100 miles and got the same bike for $7200. and got more stuff with it. You know how the game is played so get in there and play. Go to more than one dealer. The price changes a lot. The same as in the car world...scruffy

Hi Mike. I am in Northwestern PA and I just got two prices on a 2007 Suzuki M50. $6,695 and $6,956. The dealers were about 35 miles apart. Both prices were OTD and included PA 6% sales tax. This was without any negotiation. I'm sure I can get another few bucks off those prices when I get serious in another few weeks. You sell cars so you know how the game is played. Good Luck,

thanks for the help fellas, those prices sound about right, my only decision left to make is whether im going with a new or used bike because (God Forbid) i drop the bike, id rather be about 4 grand in the hole rather than 7 grand, again i appreciate the input and hopefully ill be on the road soon!
Safe riding, Mike

Mike I live in New York and bought an M50 in august 2007, they did not give me anything off price because I was trading in Vstrom 650, they did give me a good trade value. My wife took my bike for some rides and in the fall we went and got her an M50 2007, it was late in year and they drop the price to 5,950, maybe because it was second bike in a few months and late in the year but it was a great deal. we both love the bikes and they are easy to ride. Work on the dealer then enjoy riding.

I bought a 2005 c50 in 8/9/05. The asking price was $7200.00. We settled for $5350.00. After adding taxes, freight, handling and tag and title fees, it totaled to $6306.53. First I researched the prices by checking dealer offers in local motorcycle sales magazines. I also looked in the internet for the larger dealers in the country to compare prices. Based on the available information, I set a price I was willing to pay. I went from one dealer to another for pricing. I went home to think about the offers. The hungriest dealer made the best offer. Stick to your offer and let them call you back. The end of the year is the best time for this strategy, but remember that the economy is slowing and dealers need to sell to whoever shows up. Good Luck.

Guys, im from the UK, and are going to buy the M50 after considerable research into cruisers, this being my first. There is a fair amount of money to be saved, having the bike imported from the states. I have a number of quotes from dealers in NY on a new 2008 model. The best I have so far is $6,299 OTR. Has anyone any ideas if this seems reasonable or could it be beaten ??

HI; The price is not too bad. Does this include freight? If so it is a great deal I would think. I paid 7,200 + tax. for my C50T in 05. Good luck ...scruffy

Hi scruffy, Im sure your pleased with your C50T, Iv read no end of positive reports on them. No the price I have had does not include shipping. The dealer ( Flemington NJ )has supplied a quote of $985 for delivery by flight. This totals roughly $7,284 give or take unforeseen costs. How does that sound ? Apparantly I dont need to pay the duty tax on the bike because it is being exported out of the states. Im still looking to beat this price tho.

HI; HOW are you doing? GET the bike yet ??? I think the price is OK but not GREAT. Might wait and try to fine an 06 or 07. The dealers will deal on old stock most of the time. GOTTA SELL and get the new in. Have you looked at used ones? You may get a real good deal used. GOOD luck on the search... ..scruffy..
