Stopped at lights after running bike for 15 mninutes, started coughing and died after trying to rev. up. It started again after three tries and ran fine for about 40 kms and then repeated the same on highway but I kept it going, altho very jerky (die start die start). This happened about 3 times on a 100 km trip. Tank was half full so we topped up and added stabilizer (in case there was condensation) and it ran fine after that. We are planning a big trip soon, so want to gather as much info as possible. Anybody experienced this, and what did you do, etc. Thanks

It could be a vapor lock caused by gas cap vent blockage. Next time it happens remove or lossen the cap and see if it improves.

HI; I don't know the specifics on the Harley FI system. I would check the wiring to the pump. It may have a loose connection. Can you hear the fuel pump working when the engine dies? If not you may have an open circut. Check the fuel to make sure that there is no water in the tank. Remove the fuel hose to the injectors turn the pump on put a hose in a glass and let it run just for a sec. If there is any water in the tank you will see it. If both are good check the ignition switch connection it may have come loose. Hope this helps..scruffy
