Hi, i have a kawasaki zxr -600 on a 99 plate. I have a problem with changing gears. When i change gear from first, the gears stiffen and i find it very difficult to get into next gear. As i am a girl (and yes i have to play on that!!!) i know absolutely nothing about the maintenance of bikes as yet! I was wondering if there was someone out there that could give me a bit advice, like do the gears need oil and if so where does it go!! would be grateful for any help. Thanks in advance!

It seems to me that you have a mechanical problem, I had the same problem when I first got my bike and I thought it was me it turns out that it was the clutch cable that needed adjustment, I found this out in the Clymer book, it gives you the compete infor. about the maintenance of your bike, you can get it at your dealer or log on www.clymer.com, its good to have this book even if you're not mechanical incline, another option is and yet the best is to take it to a reputable mechanic to check on the entire clutch system, But if you ride or borrow another bike you can easily found out if you're the problem or it is your bike... Good luck

hi im a girl too! first off, lose the poodle skirt and put a pair of pants on. if you're going to own a bike you should get your nails dirty and learn a little about it. sounds like you shouldnt put oil anywhere and just call your mechanic. that would be the safest bet.
