I don't see a forum for suggestions so I'll have to make them here. How about: 1.a link to new posts since last visit at the top of the home page? 2.An icon on all new posts? 3.A "notify moderator" link on each post? (not a big priority right now) 4.A suggestions forum? 5. Two columns at the right of each topic showing the originator and the last poster to the topic? 6. A member list link showing the user name and contact info (PM, email, of all members including the staff? 7. An e-mail notification of topics you have replied to? 8.Activating/updating the forum stats at the bottom of the homepage?
Those are the most important ones I can think of at the moment, IMHO. Perhaps other users can add to the list

So far I've handled number 4 ![]()
I'll see what I can do about the new posts link, icons, notify button, member's list.
On the other forums I moderate, we have most of these things, except for the forum stats.
I'll check back here with updates.

I'll work on posting some good sticky threads. PM me if you have suggestions on others that should be sticky-ied.

There is an active post link at the bottom fo the main page of the forums, but I'll try to get one on the top.

An active thread can be helpful but a "new posts since last visit", link on the home page is invaluable to frequent users to save navigating thru all the forums to look for new posts.

You should really concider changing the name to "Forum" in the Left Menu. Currently it is labeled "Message Board" (which is technically correct) but it is labeled forum everywhere else in the site, and forum tends to be a more popular descriptor.
Picky I know... I'm obsessed with consistency.

Good Afternoon, I just watched an episode of American Thunder with host Michele Smith on the Speed Channel. The TV Crew were at one of many Bike Shows they have on their programs. What peaked my interest is that Hog Tunes had a display with replacement speakers for Harleys and other baggers. I have a 2003 HD Ultra Classic and have found many versions and type of speakers offered per various web sites. The trouble is that I really wanted to read a comparison article from you or anyone about the various company's like Harley Davidson, Hog Tunes, J&M, etc. that offer upgraded speaker systems and amps. I work hard for my money and don't want to fall for all the hype and buy something sub-par. There is not an article anywhere that compares different companies on this subject. Could you write an article on the subject? Keep up the very good work and I'll keep reading... Thanks, Tull Benton, Subscriber

How about some participation from the writers at the magazine? Might be cool? I think you might see more traffic here in the off months (e.g. when we're not out riding). Promote the forum in the print magazine (prominently) if you're not doing it already. Just some suggestions. Also, a neat feature I've seen on some boards is that the one who posts (can't be "poster", could it?) is automatically sent an email from the forum that a thread to which they've posted has a new post. This is a good way of keeping threads going and for bringing registered users back. I hope this thead (and the magazine) get traction (no pun intended). I like the editorial content of the magazine (though I miss Jamie Elvidge).

Like to see a help list. When traveling around the states or where ever. You would have a list of members that would help you when in their area. IF something happened to you or fellow riders. Maybe just stop in for a cool one,BBQ. scruffy..

Need an option for users to set email notifications when someone replies to their topic. Most people will end up leaving without knowing the activity level. This is the only forum I have ever seen without the option in the users account.
