I googled this topic and searched it on this site and was surprised not to find anything about it. My question is... what is the best cruiser for a big man? In my case big man means 6'5" (a lot of leg) and 300 lbs. I want a bike that I can ride with my wife. I don't do long trips, but being only 80 miles from the southern Oregon coast, I plan to make a lot of rides there. I had a Boulevard C50 that I thought was a great bike and nice ride, but not enough power. Also the foot boards were to far under me to be comfortable. I have come to the conclusion that because of my height I will need to get forward controls and because of my weight, stiffer suspension. Is there anybody on this forum who is a big man that could give me tips on a successful setup? I don't mean to tick anybody off, but I'm not much of a HD fan, so I'm mostly interested in Asian and European bikes, but also Victory bikes as well. As a note for determining length, I wear a 34" to 36" in jeans. Thanks for any and all help.

If you are looking for big have you sat on any of the 2000cc bikes? forward controls will help but if you want power and something you can ride all day, I would suggest a 1500 Valkyrie. they dont make them anymore but you can still pick one up used. The only problem you may find is the foot placement but I know guys that are over 6 feet and dont have a problem. Its a bike that can ride all day. and even used you can get alot of miles out of the motor. I would check out the Valkyrie web site for pictures of them and even some questions.. http://www.valkyrieriders.com/

I'm 6'6" 275 lbs. (36" inseam) and have been riding a Yamaha Roadstar for 4 years. I was going to do forward controls but the Kury highway pegs work fine for me. I did upgrade the seat to an Ultimate since the stock seat sucks. I also added a heavier rear spring last season which made a big improvement on Ohio's crappy roads. Wife rides with me a lot and we did a couple of 750 mile trips last year with no issues at all. Hope this helps.
