When riding on a bike its kind of hard to think about what to bring, but iwould like to know, what would be the best thing to bring on a road trip  

It really depends on how far you are going, but I never leave home without my cell phone, 1st aid kit, wrench kit and my 9mm.  I also keep a twenty with the bike for when I am low on cash.  

mciau,a road trip can be alot of fun.EASY RIDER and all.waitresses cant wait to jump on the back of youre bike and ride with you.BUT reality may be a bit more real.you have to pack for RAIN,cold,14 hours of SUN,etc.in 2003 i went to arizona from wisconsin.1 week and 3600 miles.three 600 mile days there and one day off then another 600 mile days back.it was a fantastic trip.the sun burned a layer of skin off my nose one way and another layer off the other way.i left in 75 degree weather.the next day when i left missouri it was raining HARD and about 48 degrees.it was a COLD ride through KANSAS.i fried 2 days later in phoenix.106 degrees.but i didnt have any bike problems and it was a great trip.especially the ride through new mexico.id love to go back .maybe next spring.  

Longrider said it well ... be prepared!! I camp out when I ride, and I've about got the idea down right. Put your stuff together with some common sense and don't overdo it. You're going to fix breakfast usually, and maybe supper, but you'll probably buy lunch on the road. Plan both meals around one pot that you can eat from (always brew the coffee first). Be sure to take a drop cloth for under the tent so your bag doesn't get wet. Know where the next state park is along the route and plan on no more than 250 miles on back roads per day if you want to sit around and talk with folks in the park or commune with nature. Take bug spray and a flashlight and toilet paper. Go on several short trips before you take the big one. Plan on having fun... why else would you be going?!?!
