I have a 2005 Yamaha V-Star with about 4800 miles on it. When I was riding into work today, it started making a sound (between 4th & 5th gear) that was like putting the bike into neutral while laying on the throttle. It also seemed like there was a loss of power to the rear wheel (not a total loss, just partial). It did it a couple of times in some stop and go traffic. I did not think a whole lot of it, but it started to do it again on the commute home. This time it was doing it between 3rd and 4th and then 4th and 5th. It did not happen every time I was shifting, but every now and then. It has not done it before and these last two days have been pretty *** cold compared to any other times I have driven it. However, I think it is more a conicidence than anything else.
Does this sound like anything anybody out there has heard of?
