I have a 2001 Yamaha Roadstar 1600 and have developed an obnoxious vibration. I recently had the 4th gear repaired because of a recall. When I got the bike back I noticed a vibration when the engine is reved to about 2500 rpm. I took it back to the dealer and they told me that was normal. The vibration gets worse at freeway speeds around 70. I have eliminated other possibilities like tires and belt because I have actually turned the engine off at those speeds and the vibration goes away. The engine mounts are tight and I have tried changing brands of gas and adding some carb cleaner to several tanks of gas. I have Vance Hines straight pipes and a stage one upgrade. Other mechanics tell me they think the vibration is a bit excessive and that there is no adjustment that can be done to solve the problem. Has anyone had this sort of problem. I love the bike but may have move to another brand if I have to endure a contant massage over a long ride! I bought the bike used and have put over 5000 on it. The vibration is definitely not normal.
