OK - Everybody has their own idea what works best on their own "cruiser".My harley friends swear by dunlop or michelin and do get many miles on them. The smaller metric cruisers stay close to what came on the bike or a near duplicate by another tire company.Very few step up in size or change profile. The larger cruisers I have seen have not been common on tire choices, sizes and brands. I see just about every brand on these bikes and find it interesting to see such a vast range on a particular bike,'cept road/strat liners. What works best for you ? Does it get good miliage without giving up traction. How long does the front last ? Rear ?

I have recently gone over from Metzelers to Dunlop Elite III's on my GL1800 Goldwing, Honda VTX 1800 and Suzuki M109R. I liked the way the Metzeler ME880's handled but was unimpressed with tire mileage. I run a 240 rear on my VTX and typically get 6,000 miles on them. Fronts got 6,000 miles as well prior to switching to a 21" front wheel. The last 21" ME880 returned 17,000 miles I didn't expect changing wheel/tire size would result in such a dramatic difference but I'm not complaining! Metzeler and Avon don't make a 21" in a radial and this was a big incentive to switch to Dunlop Elite III's. I've been running Elite III's on my Goldwing for awhile now and mileage appears to be better than with either Bridgestones or O.E.M. Dunlops. I've already ridden 11,000 miles on the current rear (Elite III) and it appears to have many thousands of miles left to go. Previously 11,000 miles was all I ever got from the others when they were ready for replacement. By the way, from the mileages I've quoted you most likely have gathered I ride aggressively and I can say I'm quite pleased with the handling of my Elite III's but I think the Bridgestones were a little better in the rain. I think the new Dunlops I run now are a bit harder rubber. That's probably why they last longer ![]()

HI. I just change the tires on my C50T to Bridgestone's. Front is stock G703-M 130/90-16 WW. Rear is G702-J 180/70-15 WW. I only have about 350 miles on them. They stick way better than the OEM.( I got 14,000 out of OEM,s).The wider rear is great. Seams more stable in hard corners. I hope that I get the milage out of these as I got with the OEM,s I ride harder now. Seems that I drag the floor boards more often now...scruffy...
