Hello all! I am new to motorcycles but have had my intrest peaked for sometime. I am in search of a learner bike, and even have a couple in my sights other than the two I'm about to ask about. I have been looking hard at the Vulcan 900 classic lt and the Star 1100 silverado. Either I think would make a great turing bike, but what would make you pick one over the other? The Kawasaki has belt drive, fuel injection, and is liquid cooled. The Star has shaft drive, carburators, and is air cooled. Question, is an air cooled bike more apt to over heating and is there that much time idling in traffic other than Gattlinburg Tn. to worry about it? I am only asking because these two turing bikes happen to fall into my price range and I plan on doing a lot of turing of the country! Any comments welcome!

Wow! I misspelled touring a lot and must have new guy stink all over me! I know my question was mostly asking oppinions on the two bikes, unless there are some hard facts that I am over looking between the two. Also considering Honda VTX-1300T and the Silverado 1300. I plan on which ever I get being used for riding daily to work and weekend trips with the wife. Any help/oppinions welcome.
